Oasis of Change Recognized for Youth Leadership in Digital Sustainability
Founder Gabriel Dalton receives the City of Vancouver’s Youth Impact in Innovation Award for sustainable web development and community climate action.
VANCOUVER, British Columbia — November 12, 2025
Oasis of Change founder Gabriel Dalton has been recognized with the Youth Impact in Innovation Award through the City of Vancouver’s 2025 Awards of Excellence, honouring his leadership in sustainable web development and youth-driven climate action.
The recognition highlights the organization’s work helping mission-driven groups reduce the environmental footprint of their websites, retire end-of-life hardware responsibly, and support tree planting across more than twenty countries.
A Vancouver School Board story published alongside the award spotlighted how young leaders are shaping practical, measurable sustainability outcomes in the technology sector.
“Young people should not just adapt to the future of technology. They should help define it.”
The recognition comes as Oasis of Change expands its reforestation partnerships and sustainable web development work, with 7,144 trees planted in its 2025–2026 fiscal year across fourteen countries.
Youth-led advocacy remains a core part of the organization’s mission, with continued engagement across school, community, and civic platforms in the months ahead.
Partner Perspective
“Gabriel’s work shows how thoughtful, youth-driven technology leadership can accelerate real environmental progress in our communities.”
— Award recognition statement, City of Vancouver
The award reinforces the broader message that digital sustainability belongs in every civic and business conversation, not only in climate or technology circles.
