Sustainability Statement
How we approach energy transparency across our hosting, infrastructure, and daily operations.
Our approach
We think about digital sustainability in two parts: the infrastructure our websites are developed and hosted on, and the electricity behind the devices used to build them. We develop most of our websites on Amazon Web Services (AWS) infrastructure, and our team works from Vancouver, British Columbia, where the electricity system is powered by over 98% renewable energy.
Cloud hosting

Website infrastructure
We develop most of our websites on AWS infrastructure. Amazon reports that 100% of the electricity consumed across its global operations, including data centres, has been matched with renewable energy sources.1
Local operations

Devices used to build the work
Because our team is based in Vancouver, our day-to-day workstations run within British Columbia's electricity system. BC Hydro states that over 98% of the power it generates comes from clean, renewable sources, primarily hydroelectricity.2
