Overview

The 2024–2025 fiscal year represented a formative period for Oasis of Change. During this time, the organization focused on establishing its identity, clarifying its mission, and beginning to build the programs and partnerships that would support its long-term work.

This report documents the organizational activities, early accomplishments, and strategic directions that characterized the year, providing a foundation for the more expansive work that would follow.

Founding & Formation

During 2024–2025, Oasis of Change undertook foundational work to establish itself as a nonprofit organization committed to digital sustainability, public education, and mission-aligned technology. This included developing its organizational structure, clarifying governance frameworks, and beginning to build the public-facing infrastructure that would support its work.

The year involved establishing relationships with early partners, developing initial project concepts, and communicating a clear organizational identity to supporters and the broader community.

This foundational work was essential to ensuring that subsequent years could build on a stable organizational base, with clearly articulated values, goals, and accountability mechanisms in place.

Early Initiatives

Two initiatives were worked on during the 2024–2025 fiscal year: the launch of Web-Ready, Oasis of Change's sustainable web development practice, and the municipal proclamation campaign that secured public recognition for sustainable technology in Vancouver.

This period also included early work on impact reporting, digital transparency practices, and the environmental documentation frameworks that would later support Oasis of Change's public sustainability statements and tree planting reports.

While many initiatives were still in early stages, the year provided important groundwork for the more mature program development that followed.

Impact Highlights

During 2024–2025, Oasis of Change funded the planting of 675 mangrove trees in Madagascar through Eden Reforestation Projects, roughly offsetting 34,000 kg of CO₂ over the trees' lifetime. This first planting cycle established the partnership model, monitoring approach, and transparency practices that would underpin the organization's later environmental reporting.

Alongside this reforestation work, the year included initial sustainable website projects demonstrating meaningful reductions in emissions and resource use, helping establish the benchmarks the organization would build on in subsequent years.

Looking Ahead

As the 2024–2025 fiscal year closed, Oasis of Change was positioned to accelerate its program development, expand its initiatives, and deepen its public presence. The foundational work of this period enabled more ambitious progress in subsequent years.

The organization looked forward to building on its early momentum, strengthening its relationships with partners and supporters, and continuing to demonstrate the value of mission-aligned digital practice for communities and the environment.
